By the 5th grade Joey was playing the guitar and writing songs. He life was destined to be filled with music. He helped form The Emmanuel Quartet and was their music director for 13 years. He began his solo ministry in 2002 with a fresh acoustic sound, incorporating the styles of Worship and Praise and Light Contemporary music that is loved by all ages.
